Price Hill residents injured in hit and run

After running a red light, a driver of a Mitsubishi Galant slammed into an Oldsmobile on Feb. 24 in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati. Four people were injured as a result of the car accident. The driver of the Mitsubishi and his passengers fled the scene.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Lehman Road and Grand Avenue in Cincinnati at approximately 9 p.m. The Oldsmobile was heading north on Grand Avenue at the time it was struck by the Mitsubishi, which then hit a parked Chevrolet van. The four people who were injured were taken to a hospital.

The Mitsubishi had caught the attention of area police earlier in the evening at approximately 8:20 p.m., when the driver committed a traffic violation. When police tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped off at a high rate of speed and police chose not to pursue the automobile. Police are now looking for the driver who fled the scene of the car accident. His identity is not known at the time of publication, but individuals who have any information are encouraged to contact police. People who call may be able to receive a reward if the information helps leads to an arrest in the case.

When individuals cause car collisions, there may be a criminal case and a civil case. Police may apprehend a person and the person may be convicted of a crime. In civil court, a person who causes an auto accident may be held legally liable for the damage that he or she caused. This damage may include property damage, lost income, medical expenses, pain and suffering and even punitive damages. An Ohio personal injury attorney may be able to help a victim recover compensation for damages from the person who caused the wreck.
