Cincinnati semitrailer accident sends 1 to the hospital

A recent truck accident on Third Street at the intersection with Broadway sent one man to the hospital. With the size and weight of a semitrailer truck, the driver who was injured is extremely lucky that he was not more seriously injured or dead. The people of Cincinnati hear about trucking accidents all the time and many of the injuries are incredibly severe or fatal.

This accident happened when an out-of-state truck driver was trying to make a turn onto Broadway from Third Street. Unfortunately, it is illegal left turns at the intersection and the trucker's inability to notice the signs caused a three-vehicle accident. Now the driver of one of the vehicles is having to recover at University Hospital while the tractor-trailer driver was merely cited for violating the city's municipal code.

When the semitrailer smashed into the man's car, it flipped over and the car ignited. Though emergency responders were able to get the driver out and extinguish the flames, the man was still injured. It is unknown what the nature of the man's injuries is, but he has likely accrued some medical debt from this accident.

When a truck driver is responsible for an accident, an injured driver or passenger can often hold the driver or the trucking company liable for the crash. Since truck drivers are professional drivers and should know better than to cause an accident, it is reasonable to assume that they will pay for the damages resulting from an accident they caused.

The driver of the third vehicle that was hit by the overturned and on-fire car, was uninjured in the crash.
